Abstract
This research is part of a larger project whose purpose is the creation of cultural indicators in the Ecuadorian context. The proposed case study aims to specifically analyze the equipment, consumption and use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of the students of the Basic Education career of the National University of Education (UNAE) corresponding to the period September – February 2018. The purpose is to know the main technological resources of university students, form of consumption and use for both academic activities, leisure or entertainment.
The methodology is quantitative-descriptive. The technique used is the survey with the instrument called “Survey of cultural habits and practices of students of UNAE, 2018”. The systematization of data is carried out with the SPSS software and the analysis according to the variables gender, economic level and age. Among the main findings it stands out that the technological equipment of the UNAE student is high, led by the smartphone, computer, internet connection and digital books, overcoming socioeconomic limitations. Finally, the product of the research is construction of the technological profile of the student UNAE.
