Abstract
The following article aims to make known the mail art technique and parts of its contemporary development in Latin America, specifically at the school context movement. According to the Chile’s Ministry of Education guidelines, the arts should focus on new production procedures, and it is here where the students understand and assume certain practices and characteristics of conceptual artists, who from neo-avantgarde were inclined to used and validated the postal practice as a communicational nexus and placing the artistic creation at the service of society and not being used as merchandising or, in the case of schools, to get a certain grade. The methodology is based on the thoughtful participation, directed, and channeled in postal formats of young students in an international call of mail art created in Italy, and entitled Contra la represión (Against repression), that coincided with the social demonstrations that occurred in Chile, on October 18th of 2019.
