Abstract
This degree work addressed a topic of great importance in favor of the creation of original children's stories for students. Its purpose is to promote creative writing in the sixth year of Basic General Education of the "Víctor Gerardo Aguilar" Educational Unit, in Cuenca, through the application of a creative writing workshop, as a response to the difficulties presented by students around the creative writing process. The research we have carried out is qualitative, with a participatory action-research (PAR) methodology. Respectively, we use techniques and instruments that allow us to obtain clear and precise information. These techniques and instruments helped us in the elaboration and evaluation of the proposal used. We develop the methodology in four processes: the pre-investigation stage. That is, the problem, the action plan through the proposal. Then the execution through the actions, to achieve improvements in student learning and, finally, the closure, in which a permanent conclusion about the investigative process is presented. The results achieved in the pedagogical proposal of the workshop called "Creative writing of children's stories" are really satisfactory since significant learning was achieved in each of the activities that were carried out in the classroom. The activities carried out are the following: story writing using images, story writing using a fantastic binomial, story writing backwards, story writing using an exquisite corpse. Finally, the last activity called theatrical expression.
