Abstract
This research project called "DEVELOPMENT OF READING COMPREHENSION LEVELS IN THE SEVENTH GRADE EGB WITHIN THE AREA OF LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE OF THE CIUDAD DE CUENCA EDUCATIONAL UNIT" aims to publicize the relevant aspects of the importance of development and enhancement of the levels of reading comprehension in the students of the seventh of basic parallel B, of the educational unit city of Cuenca, located in the province of Azuay, city of Cuenca, this with the aim of publicizing the levels of reading comprehension that students manage to master, and at what level they are, this through a test that was implemented to the students of the seventh of the aforementioned parallel where it was identified that they dominate the literal level and critical level according to their educational level, All this research was carried out based on a theoretical framework with authors referring to the proposed research topic and based on a methodological framework with a qualitative method and techniques and instruments were implemented according to the research together with its socio-critical paradigm and approaches that give support for this research.
