Abstract
The applied didactic unit has as its central theme the argumentation in the students of the first year of high school, taking into account that they must develop the skills of reading, understanding and writing argumentative texts; making the exposition of their main ideas supported with arguments. It can be demonstrated the effectiveness that the students have in the oral expression, maintaining serious difficulties in the comprehension of texts in the literal, inferential and critical reading, due to this also the writing process and exposition of own arguments is weakened. To carry out the activities, the didactic sequence is used, which brings together a set of methodological strategies learned during the master's training process. These innovative activities include the use of tips, contributing to the students being active participants of the experiences of learning, making teachers maintain the mediating role of the learning process.
