Abstract
This degree project is framed in the line of Education-Culture-Society-Science and Technology, to verify the influence of the use of technological resources and concrete material in the teaching-learning process of Mathematics, of the students of the middle level in the sixth grade of Basic General Education in the Educational Unit "Luis Cordero Crespo", in the city of Cuenca.
The focus of this innovation project was of a qualitative nature, through a participatory action research methodology and a type of pre-experimental research to compare the development of the proposed activities that involve technology and concrete material. The information collection instruments were field diaries, classroom teacher interviews, diagnostic tests and evaluation of the students analyzed through a triangulation of data.
The proposal was applied to optimize the teaching-learning of multiplication through the use of technological resources (Khan Academy and Kahoot) and concrete material (board game and Waldorf circle) in sixth grade students. The results obtained in the course of the innovation project were: the improvement of teaching multiplication learning. That is, the total average of the diagnostic test was 4.02 while, with the implementation of technological resources and concrete material it was 7.75, which represents a significant improvement of 3.73 developed in a short period.
Similarly, the skill taken from the Ecuadorian curriculum was: M.3.1.9 The student recognize terms and perform multiplications between whole numbers, applying the multiplication algorithm and using technology. As a result of the implementation of the didactic strategy, the students developed the desired skill through innovative activities, as well as helping to increase their interest in the learning of multiplication.
