Abstract
The research was born from the problems detected in basic operations with natural numbers during pre-professional practices. The purpose of this research was to strengthen the teaching of addition, subtraction and multiplication through the application of the game, in the fifth year, parallel "A", of Basic General Education (EGB), of the Educational Unit (EU) "Luis Cordero" of The city of Azogues. The proposal was based on research about: the game as a didactic strategy, the game in the area of Mathematics, didactics of Mathematics, constructivism, teaching and learning strategies, among others. The research project was developed under the socio-critical paradigm, qualitative approach and practical action research design. The techniques used were: interview, survey and participant observation, with their respective instruments: the interview guide, field diary and the test. According to these instruments, data analysis is performed through data triangulation. The application of the proposal generated positive results in the Teaching-Learning process of contents, both in the social and emotional part of the students.
