Abstract
The present investigative work aims to present a didactic unit plan, based on the universal design for learning (DUA), seeking to improve the teaching-learning process in the high school year of the Special Education Unit "Manuela Espejo" of the city of Azogues promoting an inclusive education, since being a special education school, micro planning presented curricular adaptations for each student according to their disability (Down syndrome, Autism spectrum disorder, Cerebral Palsy, hearing disability, low vision, psychosocial; all these associated with intellectual disability). The research was carried out under a qualitative approach and using the Participatory Action Research method, relevant information was obtained through the survey technique directed to therapy teachers and parents of the study students, to more than a documentary analysis and triangulation of information. Within the process of operationalization of categories, emphasis was placed on issues such as: attention to diversity, inclusive education, universal design for learning and barriers to learning. The results obtained in the surveys allowed to know more about the personality, tastes, motivations and interests of each student, data that were a priority when establishing the activities in the didactic unit plan of the intervention proposal, in order to create flexible and inclusive planning that respects the particularities of each student and enhances their abilities. Within the proposal, one of the objectives was the review by experts, who by means of a rubric valued its clarity, relevance, coherence and relevance and made very valuable recommendations and indications that contributed significantly to the improvements and corrections of the proposal final.
