Abstract
Teachers, being the direct guides of students in the teaching-learning process, need to develop leadership characteristics that ensure that this performance is successful and positive in achieving significant and evolutionary learning. During the pre-professional practices throughout the career in different educational institutions of Azogues and Cuenca, the need for teacher leadership was evidenced. The present work, framed in the socio-critical paradigm and with a qualitative approach, focuses on the pedagogical actions of teachers, particularly in their pedagogical professional performance. The action research method was used, since it seeks to improve a specific educational reality, in which techniques such as observation, documentary analysis, interview and survey were applied. As a result, a theoretical-methodological proposal is produced, in particular, of a conception that starts from a new point of view or starting idea about teacher leadership and that, through an objective, starts categories, principles, as well as orientations methodological, it is suggested as a contribution to the solution of the research problem. The proposal was submitted to the judgment of experts, who evaluated its viability and relevance using different criteria. In general, the results showed that the proposed conception can favor leadership in the specific context for which it was developed, being of great value the observations made for its improvement.
