Abstract
The present investigation was proposed from the experience during the pre-professional practices that were carried out in the eighth cycle, in the ninth year of Basic General Education, parallel "A", of the "Ricardo Muñoz Chávez" Educational Unit. The purpose of this research was to strengthen students' reading comprehension skills at the literal and inferential levels through didactic strategies, from a significant teaching-learning approach, using an interactive web site (blog) as a virtual support tool for the educational process of teachers and students. The instruments used for the collection of information from this work were field diaries and an interview with the classroom tutor, with which it was possible to demonstrate that the students have few reading comprehension skills. The analysis was based on a qualitative approach, responding to a socio-critical paradigm, assuming action research as a method. A survey was conducted among teachers of the institution and specialists from the National University of Education, for a theoretical validation on the effectiveness of implementing teaching strategies mediated by a blog to improve reading comprehension, which yielded excellent results, confirming that raising teaching strategies supported by ICT (Information and Communication Technology), are fundamental as learning methodologies and overcoming difficulties in the development of reading comprehension skills, given the high degree of motivation generated in them.
