Abstract
Numerical thinking or number sense in mathematics education is the ability to do computations fluently, to make estimates and judgments without the use of complex algorithms and calculations. (Case, 1998). D’Ambrosio suggests that teaching mathematics - numerical thinking must take into account the socio-cultural reality of the student, learning that he brings from home and take advantage of this for the development of number thinking in early childhood. The purpose of this conference is to provide a new methodology to enhance numerical thinking in students, for this a series of activities has been designed with the use of GeoGebra software that will help numerical thinking in mathematics education. GeoGebra is a didactic and interactive tool that can determine better processes of demonstration, visualization and consolidation of concepts necessary to enhance numerical thinking. This educational software is an interactive multimedia program that can become a powerful pedagogical and didactic tool that takes advantage of our ability to do computations in a simple and precise way. How can the understanding of mathematical concepts be improved by using GeoGebra as a teaching resource to enrich number thinking?
