Abstract
The present research work was carried out from the internship process carried out in two academic periods that are the eighth and ninth cycle, carried out in the Educational Unit “Fe y Alegría”, of the city of Cuenca. We were able to identify some problems among which arose the research problem that was the difficulties that arose in the process of reading and writing, specifically in a student with visual disability(VD) low vision, all these generated in interaction with the barriers that are presented in the context. The literacy process is considered essential for the meaningful development of the student in their daily life and other areas of development. For this reason, several sources have investigated topics related to the basic concepts of visual disability, in addition to their categories, literacy in people with VD (low vision), the most relevant technological aids to strengthen this process, in order to understand in a more detailed way this disability and the great diversity of characteristics that compose it. The research was based on a case study, several instruments were used to collect information from the educational and family context, which together with the theoretical analysis, allowed to understand the reality of the case. This allowed to generate a proposal optima based on the Universal Design for Learning and its principles, going according to the needs, potentials and abilities of the student, so being an aid technology essential resources that facilitate access to information and meaningful participation of the student.
