Abstract
This Curricular Integration Work (TIC) focuses on the approach to the family’s content from the perspective of diversity in the context of Early Childhood Education (ECE). Our TIC seeks to make visible and give recognition to the diversity of family conformations existing in the context of Ecuadorian early childhood education level, beyond the traditional figure of the nuclear family. Therefore, we have set as a general objective to contribute to the approach of the families’ content from a diversity approach through a workshop aimed at early childhood teachers. Our main conceptual theoretical axes are: continuity-discontinuity families-school, agency in childhood, family conformations in Ecuador and the approach to the curricular content of families in the context of ECE. The research methodology is based on the qualitative approach from the combination of two research methods: ethnography and action research within our study space. Various techniques and instruments were applied to the participants of our research, all of which have allowed us to learn about their perspectives and family realities. To respond to our objectives, we propose the design, implementation and evaluation of a workshop for teachers focused on the approach to the didactic content of families inside ECE, from a diversity approach, recognizing infants as active agents of this construction. Our proposal contributed to several teachers from different institutions in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador, to achieve a recognition of the family realities present in their classrooms; the joint work between families and the school and how the content of this topic can be approached from diversity by considering the realities of each infant and being able to work around them.
