Abstract
The purpose of this work is to strengthen the development of communication skills in students of the sixth year of Basic of “Unidad Educativa del Milenio Francisco Febres Cordero”, from the theoretical principles that underpin communication around Language and Literature, relevant to a virtual teaching-learning environment. From the Participatory action research, we proceeded to assess the communicative learning needs of the students, leading to the construction of a didactic proposal based on the PBL methodology, with the aim of contributing to the teaching-learning process of communication, through the development of practical activities. The research methodology applied in this study corresponds to a qualitative approach and a socio-critical paradigm, that guide the application of methods, techniques, and instruments for data collection, to obtain information that allows diagnosing, the learning difficulties that afflict students. The information obtained in the diagnosis is an essential part of the design and implementation of a PBL strategy, from which encouraging results were obtained in terms of the development of communication skills.
