Abstract
This research deals with the “Recognition of emotions in 4-year-old children from the Ciudad de Cuenca Initial Education Center”. The objective was to implement a didactic guide of activities for the recognition of emotions of infants of sublevel 2C. The study is given from a qualitative approach because a socio-critical paradigm is assumed where the method that guided the work was Action Research (IA) because it is practical. Therefore, in terms of theoretical references, there are contributions from Bisquerra, Hernández and Steiner, who mention the importance of educating early childhood children on emotions as part of their integral development, with the purpose of increasing their personal and social well-being. Regarding the obtaining of the results in the diagnosis phase, the instruments used to collect the information were the observation guide, an interview guide and the field diaries; Through them it was possible to contrast the information obtained through a triangulation of data where it was obtained as a result that infants do not have developed their empathy nor do they recognize basic emotions such as sadness, anger and disgust. Based on these results, a didactic guide of activities was elaborated as an educational intervention proposal to favor the recognition of emotions, therefore the implementation process was evaluated, with the result that the proposed activities promoted the development of empathy, emotional vocabulary and emotional awareness. In conclusion, the application of the activities of the didactic guide strengthened the recognition of emotions in specific situations of the infants' context.
