Abstract
An appropriate strategy to deepen theoretical knowledge, interculturality, and meaningful learning of the arts in connection with the community is presented through the exhibition of the archaeological collection of Father Pedro Porras, an Ecuadorian archaeologist of national relevance, from the ‘60s to the ‘80s.The unique collection of Father Pedro Porras includes archaeological, botanical and zoological pieces of cultural, anthropological and archaeological interest. It has been exhibited in places devoted for this purpose, in both basic and higher education institutions. They have been visited with significant regularity by different groups of students and teachers of natural and social sciences. The rationale of the project, which is presented in this research as a case study and an example of management, was the conservation of the cultural objects, in a grounded museography arrangement, deployed within a building on a university campus. Designing exhibition displays with optical effect of levitating objects towards a maximum visual impact for pedagogical purposes. In the future, new similar processes of exhibition of these collections are contemplated, supported by educational innovation, avantgarde pedagogical processes, and new technologies such as augmented and virtual reality aimed to improve the processes of awareness of art in society.
