Abstract
The objective of this curricular integration work is to analyze the teaching-learning process for thematic unit No. 1 "living beings and their environment" of the Biology subject through the implementation of a playful strategy for third-year students of BGU parallel "A" of the “Luis Cordero” Educational Institution. Since, in the problem there is evidence of a content mastery deficit, specifically in the skills with the performance criteria of the forementioned thematic unit. The research corresponds to a preexperimental type with a qualitative and quantitative approach, with a population of 23 students from BGU parallel "A" and 1 Biology teacher. Participatory observation methods were used for data collection, through the instruments of observation chart, interview, survey, pre-test and post-test, the same ones that contributed to the diagnosis and evaluation of the problem. Among the results, the need to apply a playful strategy that contributes to solving the difficulties in the development of skills with performance criteria of the indicated thematic unit is identified. This playful strategy was developed through several phases: the first corresponded to the design of activities, the second focused on planning, followed by implementation and finally the evaluation of the results with a comparative analysis of the methods, techniques and instruments used. Accordingly, it was concluded that the playful strategy represents a support and reinforcement in the teaching-learning process of the students, contributing directly to the development of skills with performance criteria established for the thematic unit studied.
