Abstract
This Curriculum Integration Work (ICT) addresses shared reading with the aim of implementing a reading project that uses this methodological strategy to promote and improve the reading process in fifth-grade students of Basic General Education. The research is developed under a socio-critical paradigm, with a qualitative approach and oriented by the method of Participatory Action Research. In addition, it is supported by different techniques and instruments for data collection. This research begins with a diagnosis of the existing problems in the classrooms observed during pre-professional practices. The problems identified are related to the deficiencies in the development and application of the reading process in general. Based on these observations, the theoretical foundations are established to support the methodological strategy of shared reading, its characteristics, and its benefits. Then, the proposal of the accompanied reading project "Leo, exploro y descubro" (I read, explore, and discover) is designed and validated by experts. Subsequently, the project is applied over a period of eight weeks. Finally, the achievements and progress made with the implemented project are analyzed, reflected upon, and shared. The results obtained emphasize the effectiveness and relevance of the methodological strategy of shared reading to promote, improve and develop the reading process in students, because it transforms reading into a dialogic activity and allows the development of reading and social skills; it also generates motivation and interest in reading.
