Abstract
Sexual education aimed at people with intellectual disabilities must have a holistic and comprehensive vision, with freedom and respect for their rights, but at responsible and good way. Allowing them to love and know themselves. This requires the support of families and teachers, leaving aside stereotypes and prejudices related to sexuality. This is the only way to make a positive change towards their rights and avoid the risks of accessing incorrect information on this subject. In this work a literature review has been carried out, with emphasis on intellectual disability from a humanistic approach, sexuality in adolescents with intellectual disabilities, comprehensive sexual education and the national and international legal framework. The methodology used is based on a qualitative approach and a multiple case study. Instruments such as: in-depth interview, field diary, document analysis form were applied to parents, students and teachers of the institution. The analysis and the results obtained from the triangular gave the need to educate this population in sexuality, at the same time reflect that the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities is not different from others. Therefore, the objective of this research is to design a didactic guide on comprehensive sex education in adolescents with intellectual disabilities aimed at parents and teachers of the Unidad Educativa Especializada “Manuela Espejo” in the classroom of secondary school "A".
