The goal is to contribute to improve the quality of life of children diagnosed with Down syndrome by compensating for the language delay of a student with this condition that presents alterations in all linguistic components. The research is part of the hermeneutical - interpretive paradigm with a qualitative approach through a case study. Various methods, techniques and instruments have been applied in this research such as: participant observation, interviews with the teacher and the family of the target child, speech therapy files and field diaries. Based on all the information obtained within the framework of a detailed analysis of the state of the language components and the needs of the Down syndrome students, a speech therapy proposal has been proposed. It consists of the design of recreational activities organized in a booklet that compensate for the language components and the identification of barriers.
