Abstract
Fine motor skills are one of the most important abilities that children should develop from an early age, since they contribute to an optimal development in the learning process, allowing them to acquire the necessary skills for their daily life. From this perspective, the general objective of this research is to improve the fine motor skills of children with intellectual disabilities in the first grade of the "Manuela Espejo" Special School. The research was based on a descriptive qualitative paradigm, which is based on a multiple case study as a research method; field diaries, semi-structured interviews, the motor area subtest of the Battelle Development Inventory and documentary analysis were used to collect information; from these techniques and instruments, a triangulation of data was carried out, which yielded certain results that are the basis for the formulation of the proposal. Based on the needs identified, a didactic guide was structured for the teacher with various activities of a playful nature, starting from four useful contents that allow students to acquire fine motor skills related to hand movement, fingers, hand-eye coordination, gestures and facial coordination. Finally, conclusions are shared that comply with the specific objectives of the research, taking into account that it would be useful to implement the didactic guide in another type of population as long as there is a similar problem to the one identified.
