Abstract
Sex Education is one of the most urgent challenges facing states and their educational systems. The literature has shown, for decades, how Sex Education can improve the material living conditions of individuals and societies; therefore, knowing the evolution of regulations related to its development, as well as instruments that address it in the educational system has transcendental importance. This article is composed of two sections: the first consists of a timeline that analyzes the evolution —and involution— of the Ecuadorian regulations regarding Sex Education and, the second, presents different instruments (guides, manuals and protocols) in force to work on Sex Education in the Ecuadorian educational system. Through a literature review, a systematization has been built that allows to fulfill the general objective of the article: to make available to the members of the educational community a compilation that works as a reference material and an interactive catalog of instruments that allow putting into practice Comprehensive Sexuality Education, from the technical recommendations and its fundamental approaches
