Abstract
One of the priorities of education is to meet the needs of students, promoting learning that allows them to acquire both knowledge and experience. However, the scarce practice and experimentation of the contents impede the integral development of the student. For this reason, the present work aims to propose a practical-experimental teaching strategy to contribute to the learning of the topic Hydrocarbons in the subject of Chemistry in the 3rd year of BGU of the Luis Cordero Educational Unit. On the other hand, the methodology of this study responds to a socio-critical paradigm with a mixed approach, which allowed to diagnose the main difficulties that arise in the teaching-learning process in two sample groups, one control and one experimental, through participant observation, survey, interview and a pretest questionnaire, the latter instrument, showed that students do not reach the required learning, since the average obtained by the two groups was 5.45 and 4.87 points. In this context, the aforementioned strategy was designed and applied in the experimental group to meet the needs diagnosed in 5 phases during a period of 12 weeks of work. As a result of the research, differences are evident in the post-test between the control group and the experimental group, since the average obtained was 5.53 and 8.25 points. This allows concluding that the applied strategy is adequate to promote academic performance, collaborative work, active participation in classes, generating optimal learning results.
