Abstract
The present research focuses on the development of a didactic strategy called "Mushuk Yachakuy," aimed at strengthening the oral language skills in Kichwa of fifth-year students at CECIB "Monseñor Leónidas Proaño II." This study falls within an explanatory paradigm and employs a qualitative approach, along with a descriptive research design. Through bibliographic analysis, data collection through observation sheets and interviews conducted with teachers and students of the institution, the aim is to understand the contextual reality. During the process of identifying the limitations of using instructional materials in the Kichwa language by students, it was discovered that the main cause lies in the scarcity of bilingual teachers responsible for subject instruction and language reinforcement. These teachers have limited interaction and insufficient mastery of Kichwa, compounded by the lack of suitable instructional materials. These conclusions were drawn from the results of a diagnostic test, which revealed a low level of Kichwa proficiency, with 47% of students placed at that level. However, it is important to highlight that 81% showed progress by reaching a medium-high level, indicating a learning process in auditory comprehension, reading, and vocabulary in Kichwa. The development of audiovisual material for the digital book "Mushuk Yachakuy" or "Nuevo Aprendizaje" has yielded positive results, as it has successfully improved students' auditory comprehension, reading, and vocabulary in Kichwa, elevating the level of oral linguistic competence from 47% to 56%. These advancements demonstrate the effectiveness of the tool in strengthening Kichwa language education. Furthermore, the socialization of the "Mushuk Yachakuy" project proved to be a successful strategy for promoting collaborative work and enhancing the quality of Kichwa instruction at CECIB.
