Abstract
This research work evaluates the impact of the application of a didactic strategy based on GeoGebra to contribute to the teaching-learning process of conics in the students of the Second Technical Baccalaureate of the "Guillermo Mensi Educational Unit". It arises as a response to the difficulties diagnosed in the learning of conics, of conceptual and procedural character in skills necessary for the approach of conics. The analysis of theoretical references according to the presented topic determined several researches in the field of mathematics education that point out the positive incidence provided by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the teaching-learning process of mathematics. The research logic consisted of characterizing the teaching-learning process of the participating students, designing the didactic strategy based on GeoGebra, implementing it and assessing its impact. Therefore, the methodology is characterized by the sociocritical paradigm and the mixed approach, specific techniques (pretest, documentary analysis, surveys and posttest) and instruments (questionnaires and record) to obtain specific information. The design of the didactic strategy consists of lesson plans and a manual describing the didactic components to guide the actions. The implementation of the didactic strategy based on GeoGebra allowed us to identify a positive impact on the level of achievement of skills with performance criteria, student motivation, interactive environment and improvement of skills in the use of GeoGebra software.
