Abstract
The teaching process has the purpose of consolidating the students' knowledge during their academic formation. Therefore, this work is focused on contributing to the teaching of Biology, specifically genetics, established in the second BGU of the Luis Cordero Educational Unit of the city of Azogues. Therefore, the objective is to apply Genially as a digital tool in the teaching of Genetics through interactive presentations. It was established with a sample of 70 students: one control (CG) and one experimental (GE), applying observation cards, interviews, surveys and documentary review. By means of the diagnosis, it was evidenced that students have difficulty in understanding concepts on genetics, differentiating the types of mutations. Subsequently, the digital tool Genially was applied, which included recreational activities. Finally, when applying the post-test, it was demonstrated that students mastered the concepts and are able to establish differences between the different types of mutations. Therefore, the application of the Genially digital tool in the biology subject represented a contribution in the academic performance of learning about genetics, generating greater participation and interest on the part of the students.
