Abstract
The objective of the research is to propose a didactic model based on Biomimetics, to improve the teaching-learning process of quadratic functions, in 1st year Baccalaureate students of the Luis Cordero educational unit. Biomimetics is a current and innovative teaching model, which proposes the development of thinking and creativity in students, through the relationship between nature as an object of study and the theoretical knowledge that must be understood. (Villarroel, 2019). The applied methodology had a socio-critical paradigm, with a self-reflective nature and a mixed approach where the pretest that corresponds to the diagnosis is applied to identify the problem in the classroom taken as an intentional sample, the techniques used to collect the data are: the survey, the interview and the observation. From the results, it was possible to define the proposal of Biomimetics as a learning strategy for the instruction of quadratic functions, which was applied in 4 class sessions, to finally apply the Post test that allowed the proposal to be validated, since the improvement of students' academic performance, as well as the development of the proposed skills. The proposal made is malleable, so it can be adapted to other experimental sciences to be applied and valued.
