Abstract
Intercultural Bilingual Education in recent years has faced challenges according to the new methodologies of teaching and learning, where through these methodologies is intended to preserve the Kichwa language within the indigenous communities of the country, that is why this research work presents a proposal for the application and implementation of oral communicative strategies, with the main objective of strengthening the Kichwa language to students in the 4th grade of General Basic Education. Therefore, within this research, a research question focused on the needs of students to strengthen the Kichwa language is posed. In turn, the research work is supported by different theoretical references, focusing on a socio-critical paradigm, presenting mixed research (qualitative and quantitative) which allows the support of the results obtained in the pretest diagnosis and posttest questionnaire. In this sense, the knowledge that the students present in terms of the Kichwa language and how they have been strengthening their language through the implementation of oral communicative strategies will be evidenced, which within the research is of great importance since preserving their native language, traditions and culture is essential allowing the student to maintain their origin and show interest in their language. At the same time, it will allow the teacher to create new learning environments focusing on the students' learning, encouraging them to continue learning and strengthening their native language.
