Abstract
This research sought to understand the role of family mediation in the process of teaching-learning mathematics in education for young and adult people in the Unidad Educativa Luis Rogerio González. To this end, a qualitative approach was used, based on understanding social phenomena from an interpretative and subjective perspective, with research techniques such as semi-structured interviews, focus groups and participant observation. These data collection methods were fundamental to understanding how family mediation is a crucial component in inclusive education, especially in the teaching of mathematics to young and adult people. Likewise, mathematics education in the context of young and adult people represented a particular challenge in the educational system, both in terms of life experiences and in previous levels of formal education. Finally, the crucial role of the mediation of colleagues and family members in the learning process went analyzed, which facilitates the understanding of academic content, especially in challenging areas such as mathematics, as well as promoted a collaborative learning environment. This research aims to reflect on the inclusion of family mediation as an integral part of the curricular planning of education for young and adult people, in which clear roles and responsibilities can be defined with fluid communication channels between teachers and family members.
