Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to encourage reading habits among students and contribute in a practical way to the construction of their knowledge through readings based on Ecuadorian customs and traditions. Based on these foundations, the implementation of a didactic sequence was carried out that was applied in the "Abdón Calderón" Educational Institution, in the city of Quito, Calderón parish. For the presentation of the didactic unit, we worked with the objectives of the curriculum of the Language and Literature area. It was also proposed that students develop reading levels. For the design of the activities we worked with the oral, written and creative competences that were developed sequentially, to expand the communicative ability of the students. Finally, the active techniques, focused on cooperative learning, were applied in the methodology. Magister En Educación Mención En Enseñanza De La Lengua y Literatura
Description: Para la presentación de la unidad didáctica, se trabajó con los objetivos del currículo del área de Lengua y Literatura. Además se propuso que los estudiantes desarrollen los niveles de la lectura. Para el diseño de las actividades se trabajó con las competencias orales, escritas y creativas que se desarrollaron secuencialmente, para ampliar la habilidad comunicativa de los estudiantes. Finalmente, en la metodología se aplicaron las técnicas activas, enfocadas en el aprendizaje cooperativo.
