Abstract
The development of the actual society and in it the development of knowledge, challenges education to carry out processes that generate learning in students in this new context, in this sense the pedagogical and didactic processes must be innovated to respond successfully to the challenges of the new times. From this point of view, the present Didactic Unit has been designed with the Exponential Function as its theme. In this design the approach of the subject is proposed from the approach of a concrete problem of the daily life and the accomplishment of a sequence of activities that constitute in a guide of orientations, to bring the object of mathematical study to emerge; and, after its implementation, the respective assessment was made through the criteria of didactic suitability to determine the validity of the process developed and how it contributed to the students' learning.
