Abstract
The present didactic unit "Linear and Affine Function applied in the context of Ninth Year students of Basic General Education", has been based on a constructivist approach, with the objective that students create their own learning as well as problems applied in day to day life of the students to analyze the importance of mathematics in their life. The present work is also oriented to make a collaborative learning, since students create the contribution and help their work group, aiming to encourage teamwork. The results were bountiful among them. This project created encouraged students, students who recognize, define and differentiate a linear function of a related one, students who know the importance of mathematics in everyday life. The best way to teach mathematics is for the student to recognize the usefulness of it.
