Abstract
The present research work aims to propose the creation of a pictographic notebook that contributes to the improvement of communication in a student with Moderate Intellectual Disability at the upper basic level of a specialized institution, who presents difficulties in the development of communication, since he can not express his knowledge, desires and needs, making it impossible for them to interact with the people around them. The research is based on a qualitative approach, with the single case study method, where several techniques were applied, such as document analysis, participant observation and semi-structured interview, with their respective instruments such as: the document analysis guide, observation guide, field diaries and the interview guide, they were compared using a triangulation of data. As a general conclusion, it can be mentioned that the proposal of pedagogical intervention raised in this research is relevant since it is one of the results that is intended to reach with this work, since it has the purpose of responding to the difficulties and communicative needs of the case study with the intention of generating a resource or support material so that the student maintains a constant interaction in different contexts, and in this way achieve inclusion in both the educational, family and social spheres that encourages active participation and personal development.
