Abstract
A quality education has become a basic requirement to improve people’s living conditions, therefore, the destination of public spending on education becomes a matter of high interest. Due to its scarcity, efficiency in its use is essential, especially in the much questioned administrative burden that the country’s universities have. The objective of this research is to conduct a preliminary analysis of efficiency on administrative expenditure, in management matters, and the role in the quality of higher education, through Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The results show great advances at the administrative level, in contrast to the detriment observed for teaching spending, making it essential to integrate a regulatory and modernization processes that implements a new management modality, based on timely and adequate data and information.
