Abstract
Taking into account an initial exploration carried out in the teaching-learning process of Mathematics inside the educational unit "Gabriel Cevallos García", the authors found traditional practices based on the use of passive methods predominate with a supremacy of the vertical exposure of the teacher and the mechanistic reception of the students, with the textbook and the blackboard as the only means; At the same time, a large number of students with difficulties in developing the skills declared in the Ecuadorian Curriculum 2016 are appreciated. Therefore, this project responds to the need for the use of active methods that contribute to the coconstruction of knowledge by the students themselves and become active subjects during their learning. One of the active methods that has gained a great presence in the didactic trends of Mathematics is the game-based learning method (ABJ). For inclusion, an exploratory-experimental investigation was carried out, where elements of the mixed investigation were used, during the exhaustive diagnosis of the situation, and the design and experimentation of the transforming proposal, using methods and techniques of research such as: documentary analysis, observation to classes, interview with managers and teachers, student surveys, pre-test and post-test exams. The ABJ was used during the design, application and evaluation of a teaching strategy at the microcurricular level that included four lesson plans during 8 hours of class (320 minutes), as part of the Teaching Unit "progressions and successions" of 2nd Bachillerato in the EU " Gabriel Cevallos García ”, during the period 2019-2020. Some of the main results obtained were: development in students of essential skills declared in the 2016 Curriculum; intrinsic values and motivations that generate an active and constructive learning of the theme "progressions and successions" with fun, motivation and enjoyment, through the use of educational games; They made it possible to analyze patterns and deduce relevant information for the co-construction of the conceptual and procedural knowledge of the subject.
