Abstract
Identity formation in early childhood education is a transcendental issue, since it allows the infant to recognize himself as a person with his own characteristics and an integral part of a family, school and community. This research project is directed under the Case Study methodology; it is framed within the essentially qualitative approach. Its purpose is to implement didactic strategies that will contribute to the formation of identity in Early Childhood Education children. The theme arose from the pre-professional practices carried out in the Initial Education Center "Alberto Astudillo Montesinos" in the classroom of Initial 1, parallel "C", in this institution there is no emphasis on developing identity formation, consequently, children have difficulties in recognizing their qualities, their culture, customs and traditions. In this sense, a search for theoretical foundations was carried out, in addition the current situation was diagnosed in terms of the formation of identity in the teaching-learning process of children, hence the analysis and interpretation of the data collected in the educational context. The main result of the research was the design and implementation of a proposal of didactic strategies for the formation of identity in children from 3 to 4 years old entitled "Yo construyo mi identidad", based on the Montessori method. It concludes by stating that the collection and adaptation of stories, legends and games that demonstrate the social, cultural and ethnic diversity of the country favor the discovery of identity.
