Abstract
In this research on experiences in preprofesionals on cognitive strategies for the comprehension of practical texts of students in the fourth grade of basic education. This study was carried out thanks to the experiences obtained during pre-professional practices. The general objective of this research was to determine the relevance of cognitive strategies for the compression of texts in the area of Language and Literature in students of the fourth year of basic education through a quasi-experimental study. To support our theoretical scaffolding, Piaget's approach (1965) on cognitive strategies and the approach of Gómez (2011) and the Ministry of Education (2016) regarding text comprehension were obtained. To carry out the research, a quasi-experimental method based on the design of White and Sabarwal (2014) with a quantitative approach was presented. Various techniques and instruments were used such as: participant observation with the field diary, evaluations such as: the initial evaluation and final evaluation. For the analysis of this development research in a statistical and graphic way, typical of a quantitative study. As a result, it showed an improvement in the comprehension of texts with the use of cognitive strategies.
