Abstract
Initial Education must provide comprehensive learning, attending not only to the cognitive aspect of children but also to their emotional state; for this reason, the present research proposed as an objective to implement theatrical activities as a didactic strategy to contribute to the emotional expression of children from 4 to 5 years of parallel B of the CEI "Ciudad de Cuenca", since it was evidenced that no specific activities were carried out in which infants could express their emotions verbally and non-verbally, for this, theoretical contributions of authors such as: Bisquerra , the Ministry of Education, López, etc., were made known. Who emphasize the importance of emotional expression for the development of good emotional intelligence and the acquisition of socio-emotional skills. This research has a qualitative approach, oriented on a sociocritical paradigm and in the Action Research methodology; the techniques used were participant observation, structured observation and interview; which were addressed to the teacher, representatives and infants, each of them with their respective instruments, these were used in order to identify the problem and diagnose the state of emotional expression of infants. After the respective analysis, the functionality of four theatrical activities was designed, implemented and evaluated, for which, the observation guide, interview script and questionnaire were used as an instrument. Where it was obtained as a result that the four theatrical activities worked to contribute to the emotional expression of children, since it encourages the spontaneous manifestation of the emotions of infants through verbal and nonverbal language.
