Abstract
The aim of this research is to provide a theoretical approach immersed in the pedagogical model developed in the experimental sciences degree course at the University of Education in Ecuador, which will contrast knowledge and its practice. The research is qualitative, field-based, under the phenomenological approach. For the collection of information, the semistructured interview was used, using as informant subjects, teachers and students in teacher training who are active in the university career in the third cycle, period IS-2020. The Maxqda software was used for the analytical treatment of the information, finishing with the contextualisation based on a triangulation of the information based on the sustenance provided by the main sources and by the informants who are in the context of the object. Among the results, a traditionalist or behavioural model of educational practice stands out. As a theoretical approach, it can be concluded that, in order to generate an optimal and efficient educational transformation of scientific knowledge and practice, new methods and models of teaching must be structured in Ecuadorian university education today.
