Abstract
This article is the result of an investigation thought and elaborated as an alternative to teaching and learning processes based in the memorization of information and ignoring the development of skills, thus generating a gap between theory and practice. The objective is to develop research skills in Basic Education students from a public school in Ecuador. For this, a theoretical framework that bases the concepts of investigative skills, as well as everything related to the relevance of this research was built. Regarding the methodology, it was based in a participatory action research, then on it was divided in four stages. Once the initial information had been analyzed, the researcher obtained a diagnosis and designed a system of activities composed of a project-based learning methodology. After processing the final results, the researcher concludes that Basic Education students developed researching skills using activities' system.
