Abstract
Critical thinking is a key factor in education and citizen’s formation to become: critical, reflective, proactive, good at making decisions and transforming society. Concerning to new educational trends, this topic has gained force; however, it has not been developed efficiently even though it is part of the epistemological support of the Ecuadorian Educational Reform. Theorists and programs have offered guidelines and tools for its application; however, any real research has been carried out. Being able to prepare responsible, capable and discerning citizens in a digital society, with an exponential technological advance, is a new challenge for teachers and that is where critical thinking takes on a relevant role. Cedfi has already incorporated critical thinking into its educational system as a fundamental axis in its practice, looking forward a change in education.
