Abstract
The teaching and learning process of Mathematics needs spaces for collaboration and debate for an effective understanding, in this sense the use of ICT is presented as an optimal candidate for this process because it allows to evolve and stimulate the ability of students to solve the various problems in learning. The main objective of this work is to develop a didactic guide based on the application of new technologies to improve the teaching and learning process of the vector content in the students of the first year of high school of the "Luis Cordero" Educational Institution. The methodology was based on mixed research that included field research with the participation of the Mathematics teacher and 22 students of the first year of BGU class "A". The theoretical underpinnings of vectors, teaching methodologies and the use of GeoGebra in the classroom were analyzed. From the quantitative and qualitative perspectives, information was obtained from data collection techniques such as direct observation, survey and interview, which allowed us to diagnose a low performance in the teaching and learning process of vectors, as well as the little use of ICT in the teaching methodology. Finally, to measure the feasibility of the application of the didactic guide, content tests such as prestest and posttest were used, which in contrast showed that the use of the didactic guide had a positive impact on the teaching and learning process of vectors, since the students presented a notable evolution in their academic performance, the level of attention and motivation increased, as well as their social and intellectual skills
