Abstract
The purpose of this research work is to analyze the effects of the application of the PBL methodology, in the learning process of the topic origin and composition of the Earth, in tenth year students of Higher Basic Education of the Luis Cordero Educational Unit. . Well, the problem shows the lack of mastery of content on the aforementioned topic. The research is associated with a type of research called quasi-experimental with a mixed approach, with a population of tenth grade students from parallels A and C. To address this issue, a quasi-experimental research design was chosen with a mixed approach, which involves to tenth year students from parallels A and C as the study population. Data collection was carried out using methods such as participant observation, field diaries, interviews, and pre- and post-test questionnaires. The intervention consisted of the development of micro curricular plans based on the Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodology. After the application of this proposal, positive results were observed that demonstrate the effectiveness of the PBL methodology in the experimental group of students, which is reflected in the results of the implementation. According to the results obtained, it is concluded that PBL contributes positively to the students' learning process, improves academic performance, greater collaboration, better communication and participation capacity, indicating that the acquisition and association of knowledge of the origin and composition of Earth was successful.
