Abstract
The current research focuses on designing a didactic guide using Genially as an innovative resource for teaching Social Studies at the '8 de Marzo' Educational Unit in Lago Agrio, Sucumbíos. Its objective is to promote meaningful learning and improve didactic processes through the use of this technological tool. Therefore, it is grounded on the importance of integrating Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education and on the need for teacher training in their application. The research, with a sociocritical approach, employs a qualitative methodology, develops a theoretical framework, identifies needs, designs the didactic guide, and validates it with experts. The results indicate that while educators recognize the added value of Genially, they face perceived obstacles that prevent its full integration. The didactic guide, although generally well-received, has been subject to recommendations for targeted improvements in its content and methodological approach. Moreover, the proposed didactic guide is well-received, though minor improvements in its content and methodology are suggested. In conclusion, this research contributes to the collective effort to integrate ICT in the teaching of social sciences, highlighting the necessity to overcome barriers for technological adoption and the importance of didactic planning tailored to the demands of the current educational context.
