El pensamiento visual como estrategia para fortalecer la comprensión lectora en el área de Lengua y Literatura a través de cuentos y leyendas ecuatorianas en los estudiantes de cuarto año de Educación Básica de la Unidad Educativa “Remigio Romero y Cordero”

Abstract

The present degree work is focused on the design and implementation of activities focused on the strategy of visual thinking to strengthen the reading comprehension of the twenty-seven students of the fourth year of Basic Education parallel "A" of the educational unit "Remigio Romero y Cordero" morning section. To develop the research project, it was pertinent to search for international, national and local studies of reading comprehension and visual thinking strategy. Likewise, the research - action methodology was used within the socio - critical paradigm with the mixed approach; for the collection of data on the object of study, different research techniques and instruments were used: participant observation, field diary, survey and interview. Similarly, to verify the progress of the students in reading comprehension, a pre-test and post-test were applied, that their skills improved at all three levels (literal, inferential and critical). Thus, the visual thinking strategy helps the understanding of texts, because students can communicate, transmit and present ideas through images, thus developing new criteria and concepts.
