Abstract
The objective of the study was to propose an emotional education program aimed at adolescents from the upper basic sublevel of the José María Velasco Ibarra Basic Education School. To do this, a documentary review was carried out in order to identify the theoretical bases to support the program, the models of emotional education and international programs that have been used throughout history were determined. The study used a methodology based on an interpretive paradigm, using a case analysis method that allowed a diagnosis to be made about emotional education in adolescent students. An interview was applied to a sample made up of 17 students and 5 teachers. According to the results, it was determined that the majority of the adolescents who participated can identify and express their emotions, however, it was possible to recognize that minor conflicts among students are frequent. For this reason, it was concluded that it is important to design an emotional education program to be implemented in the institution, this was based on the Goleman and Serpa model submitted to expert judgment.
