Abstract
The objective of this research is to promote educational inclusion through the integration of emotional education in the teaching of English. The diagnosis allowed us to identify a lack of strategies in our educational environment to address this need. In response, it is planned to design a didactic unit plan in the subject of English with activities focused on emotional education, with four specific objectives: theoretical foundation, characterization, design, and evaluation of the proposal. To carry out this research, a case study methodology with a qualitative approach and interpretive paradigm has been adopted. A group of 20 third-year students of Basic General Education, parallel “A,” at the Sudamericano School, in the city of Cuenca, were analyzed. The data was collected through structured interviews and observation sheets with the students. Also, surveys were carried out among other teachers. Likewise, an exhaustive analysis of the pedagogical documents was carried out at three levels: macro, meso and micro curricular. The results confirm the need to implement methodological strategies that promote the emotional development of students and inclusion in the educational field. The proposal includes various activities aimed at addressing personal aspects in the teaching-learning process. Furthermore, the study by authors such as Bisquerra, Gardner, Stake, among others, provided a solid basis to support the proposal. After evaluation by experts, it has been proven that the proposal is effective, efficient, and relevant to attend and solve the identified problem.
