Abstract
The present research entitled Songbook as a resource to strengthen the Kichwa language in the Wawakuna of the level of Insertion to the Semiotic Processes of the Intercultural Bilingual Educational Unit Huayna Capac, aimed to design a songbook for the Wawakuna, which consists of several children's songs, involving words in Kichwa, in order to strengthen the mother tongue at this level. For this research, a search for theoretical references on language, the importance of Kichwa and music as a teaching and learning strategy was conducted. Likewise, an approach to the different educational documents was made, focusing on what is mentioned about language development and the importance of the mother tongue. The study responds to a socio-critical paradigm with a qualitative approach, a descriptive level of study and a field design. A data analysis, a matrix of categories and triangulation were carried out, using the instruments applied such as the interview and the field diaries, which allowed a different perspective on the object to be investigated. Through this research, it was possible to observe the need to design a songbook that strengthens Kichwa in the Wawakuna of the Insertion to Semiotic Processes level. Therefore, an educational intervention proposal was designed, with the aim that the Wawakuna of the Intercultural Bilingual Educational Unit Huayna Capac, strengthen the mother tongue of their community and thus internalize their culture and history.
