Abstract
The objective of this research is to develop a playful strategy for learning Mendel's laws in the second year of high school at the Luis Cordero Educational Unit. Effective learning of Biology goes beyond theory, requiring active practice that awakens the student's interest and immerses him or her in the scientific world; In this way, playful strategies allow the aforementioned aspects to be strengthened, contributing to the student's learning process. To have a vision of the learning of Mendel's laws, a diagnostic evaluation was carried out on the control group and the experimental group, and techniques such as participant observation, an interview with the teacher and a survey with the students were used. From the results, a deficiency was evident in terms of the correct performance of practical exercises on the aforementioned topic. For this reason, the playful strategy was implemented in the experimental group, it consisted of four phases that were: planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection. Finally, to measure the viability of the strategy, a post-test was carried out on both groups, as well as an interview with the teacher and a guide of questions for a focus group. Significant progress was obtained in the students' academic performance, as there was greater participation during classes since the students felt motivated and interested in the topic. In conclusion, the application of the playful strategy in high school has proven to improve learning in the subject of Biology.
