Abstract
The main purpose of this research work is to develop expressive language through a speech therapy intervention in a student diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the ninth year of EGB of the Specialized Educational Unit "Agustín Cueva Tamariz", which provides the setting to carry out this work. In order to provide a theoretical basis, several conceptualizations about the development of expressive language in this population were analyzed, and how some children show serious difficulties in the acquisition and evolution of language from an early age. In order to achieve the stated objective, the Interpretative paradigm was considered as the paradigm, accompanied by a qualitative approach, where the single case study method is deployed, the techniques implemented were observation, interview, bibliographic review and documentary analysis; from them emerge the instruments such as: the interview guide, field diaries, observation guide, documentary record and content cards. From the collection of information, we proceeded to operationalize the indicators, about the category of analysis, to then carry out the triangulation of data on the student's communicative conditions, determining that the linguistic components are affected. In response to what was collected, we proceeded to design a speech therapy intervention proposal to work on communicative strategies, which has speech therapy sessions that will work on breathing techniques, relaxation and activities for the different components of language, each activity has its respective objective, time, resources, methodology and evaluation rubric, all of this is designed to promote expressive language.
